The action led by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), ended during Gulfood 2020, the largest food fair in the Middle East, held between 16 and February 20 in Dubai (UAE).
With the participation of 14 agro-industries exporting poultry, eggs and poultry genetic material, the action consolidated US $ 19 million in business in just the five days of the event. According to the companies, the contacts made should generate US $ 181.8 million in exports over the next 12 months.
The action had an exclusive gastronomic space for companies participating in the Brazilian Chicken, Brazilian Egg and Brazilian Breeders sectorial projects – international poultry brands in Brazil. More than 1,000 omelets and 5,000 shawarmas (chicken cuts served on flatbread) were served to importers and potential customers who attended business meetings at the ABPA stand at Gulfood.
“Dubai is a meeting point for importers from Africa and Asia, and is the main event for halal exports. The strong presence of purchasing decision makers reinforced Gulfood’s importance in the international action calendar, especially for Brazil, which is the world’s largest exporter of halal chicken meat ”, analyzes Ricardo Santin, executive director of ABPA.
